Over mij

Ik sta inmiddels  tien jaar voor de klas als docente Nederlands in het voortgezet onderwijs (mavo, havo en VWO). Leerlingen in die leeftijdsgroep vragen veel van je, zowel vakinhoudelijk, als op sociaal en pedagogisch gebied. Het is mijn ervaring dat je niet alleen een taal onderwijst, maar ook jezelf. Omgekeerd leer je van je leerlingen ook heel veel. Dat maakt lesgeven voor mij extra waardevol.

Na tien jaar wil ik me graag richten op een ander publiek. Verandering van spijs doet eten.

About me

For the past 10 years I’ve been teaching Dutch in Secondary education (lower and upper). Pupils in this age category can be quite demanding, not only when it comes to the subject matter. In my experience you have to bring a lot of yourself into your teaching. Children want to be taught by actual human beings, not by someone who recites the textbook and tells you to shut up and carry on. And if I bring a lot of myself , the pupils do also. This reciprocity makes teaching all the more valuable to me.

After 10 years I feel it’s time for some change. Variety is the spice of life.
